Jay Puppo – 2012 Wilsonville First Citizen

Jay Puppo was named the 2012 Wilsonville First Citizen for his longtime community involvement in a variety of capacities, including as founder of the Wilsonville Kiwanis Club.

In 2004, he led the creation of the club’s signature event, the Wilsonville Kiwanis Kids Fun Run, a non-competitive event that promotes the health and well-being of our youth while affirming the family-friendly environment in the Wilsonville community. The Kids Fun Run generates proceeds which are reinvested in the community through the Wilsonville Outreach Program, which Jay founded in 2006. In addition, he founded the Wilsonville High School Key Club, which was a Kiwanis-affiliated service group.

His most recent Kiwanis project was the creation of a local Dolly Parton Imagination Library literacy program, providing books to encourage parents to read to their children under age 5. Jay is also active in his church, in his sons’ school and athletic endeavors, and as a volunteer with Wilsonville Food Bank.

Jay is an agent with State Farm Insurance. He and his wife, Tammy, have three sons and live in Wilsonville.
