Theonie Gilmore, a music educator, moved to Wilsonville in 1973 and has been a strong advocate for the arts ever since. She founded the Wilsonville Arts and Culture Council, which produces the yearly Wilsonville Festival of Arts. She has also spearheaded the creation of an historic tapestry and placement of historic murals in the Wilsonville Parks and Recreation building (formerly the Wilsonville-Clackamas County Visitor Center).
