Club Meeting: How JoyRx: The Children’s Cancer Association Serves Families

Tess Paterson, Volunteer Coordinator for JoyRx | Children’s Cancer Association, is dedicated to engaging and supporting volunteers as they bring comfort and joy to children facing serious illness. In her presentation, "The Transformative Impact of JoyRx," Tess will highlight JoyRx’s mission, showcase its healing programs, and share an inspiring volunteer story that demonstrates the far-reaching impact of the organization, touching lives beyond the children served.

Tess Paterson is the Volunteer Coordinator for JoyRx | Children’s Cancer Association. In her role, Tess works to engage and support the organization’s dedicated volunteers, ensuring they have meaningful experiences as they help bring comfort, inspiration, and joy to children facing serious illness. She is passionate about building a community of volunteers who are committed to uplifting young patients and their families during difficult times.

In her presentation, “The Transformative Impact of JoyRx,” Tess will provide an overview of JoyRx’s mission and its array of impactful programs designed to bring light and healing to children and their families nationwide. You’ll also hear a powerful story from a JoyRx volunteer, illustrating how the organization’s positive reach goes far beyond the children it serves, profoundly touching families, communities, and everyone involved in its mission.

The Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome. Tess Paterson joined JoyRx after a decade-long career as a pastry chef in the food industry, bringing with her a passion for building communities. Inspired by her own experience supporting a loved one through a cancer diagnosis, Tess found connection as the Volunteer Coordinator at JoyRx. She is honored to support the dedicated volunteers who share their time, energy, and unique life experiences to brighten the lives of the children and families JoyRx serves.
