Club Meeting: What Modern Neuroscience Can Tell Us About Employee and Family Engagement

Chris Reavis will explore the neuroscience of stress and how it affects both employee and family engagement. He will introduce empathy-driven strategies to diffuse fight/flight responses and activate new neural pathways, empowering individuals to better handle future stressors. Chris is the bestselling author of Boost Your BS Resilience At Work and Unleashed: What a Child with Autism Can Teach You.

Chris Reavis will explore the neuroscience behind why people struggle when faced with stressors that exceed their current abilities. When someone enters fight/flight mode, their capacity for reasoning and functioning diminishes. Chris will introduce a specific type of empathy that can diffuse this state, followed by a problem-solving strategy that activates new neural pathways, empowering individuals to manage future stressors more effectively.

Chris has authored two bestselling books that delve into the neuroscience underlying his approach: Boost Your BS Resilience At Work and Unleashed: What a Child with Autism Can Teach You. He will bring a handful of signed copies to give away and plans to donate a few copies to the Wilsonville Public Library. Don’t miss this chance to learn practical strategies that can transform engagement in both professional and personal settings.

The Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome. Lunch is available off the menu; please arrive and order by 11:45 a.m. if you are ordering lunch. For more information, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com.
