Club Meeting: Refugee Resettlement

Anthony Pinchuk, the refugee program supervisor with Lutheran Community Services Northwest in Portland, Oregon, will present on the topic of refugee resettlement. He will give an overview of Refuge and Placement (R&P) and Afghan Placement and Assistance (APA) programs and how they work, as well as the challenges faced when working with refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan. He was born in Minsk, Belarus, which was part of the Soviet Union at the time. He came to the United States as a refugee in 2002 and began working for LCSNW as a refugee resettlement case manager the same year. For several years he managed the English as a second language program in their Vancouver office before returning to Portland to take on his current position with the organization.

The Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community.
