Former Oregon Ducks football star Damon Griffin will discuss all of the changes in intercollegiate athletics over the past few years. He will explain the new name, image and likeness (NIL) rules allowing college athletes to earn an income while still competing as amateur athletes. He’ll also talk about what this means for the athletes as well as the programs.
Griffin starred for the University of Oregon Ducks football team as a wide receiver from 1994 to 1998, earning All-Pac-10 honors twice. He then played in three seasons as a wide receiver and kickoff returner for the San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals and St. Louis Rams, before injuries ended his career. He went on to be a receivers coach for Boise State before founding Integrity Sports Recruiting. He helps high school athletes put their best foot forward to colleges and universities and compete for scholarships. He also serves as sports/fitness director for Edge Family Fitness gym in Wilsonville.
