Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Imagine a world where every child, no matter their circumstances, receives a book in the mail every month, sparking their imagination, building their love for reading, and setting them on a path to success. That’s the magic of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL). From birth until their 5th birthday, children receive high-quality, age-appropriate books that research shows make a real difference. Kids who participate in DPIL are better prepared for Kindergarten, score higher in reading by third grade, and are more likely to graduate from high school.

In Wilsonville, the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation partners with the community to enroll children and raise the necessary funds to cover the cost of books and postage. The foundation is proud to serve the Wilsonville ZIP Code 97070. But thanks to the support of the Rotary Club of Wilsonville and the Wilsonville Rotary Foundation, our impact now stretches even further. We’ve expanded our reach to include the children of Adults in Custody (AIC) at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF). No matter where these children live — Madras, Klamath Falls, Central Point, or Tigard — they’re part of our Imagination Library family.

Enrolling the children of AICs is bittersweetsweet because we’re delivering the joy of reading to these young minds, but bitter because these little ones are separated from their mothers.
